I have had the great honor of working for the California State Summer School for the Arts for the past 8 years. I have worked in the Animation Department as a Teaching Assistant, an Animation Instructor, and now as the Animation Dept. Chair. The CSSSA Animation Program is an intensive month long adventure in the art of animation and the animating of art. Our students learn foundation skills & principles in addition to exploring a variety of direct techniques including: stop-motion, cut-outs, paint-on-glass, cameraless, and pixilation. Beyond their daily animation classes, they also participate in life-drawing classes and daily screenings of significant contemporary and historical animated films from around the world.
